On Saturday, August 10th Satya Pal Asija went into eternal rest at his home in Shelton, Connecticut where he has resided for the past 27 years. Satya Pal Asija is survived by his wife Teresa Asija, his daughter Sheila Asija; his son John Paul Asija who resides in Maryland, his sisters Sarla and Raj who reside in India and multiple nieces and nephews who will all greatly feel his absence in this world.

Satya Pal Asija was a shining example of the American Dream. When he was a child, his family was forced to flee the Punjab as refugees during the partition crisis. Satya Pal Asija proceeded to attend graduate school in England and work in Germany finally coming to America where he started a family and established a successful legal practice. His tenacity in the face of adversity and innovative contributions to society are a continuing inspiration to all who come to America seeking a better life.

Satya Pal Asija enjoyed a prolific career. His greatest accomplishments include the world’s first software patent for his SWIFT-ANSWER Natural Language processing system, authoring 4 books and receiving 6 patents for his technological innovations culminating in his induction into the hall of fame for Engineering Science and Technology

Viewing services were private but a celebration of life will be held at a later date
